Frequently asked questions
Common FAQ
A: At Element Ceramics and Films, pricing is tailored to each individual vehicle. Because a coating permanently seals the surface, we require an in-person inspection to provide an accurate quote based on:
• Paint Condition: We must evaluate your paint under professional lighting to determine if Paint Correction is needed to remove swirls or scratches before the coating is applied.
• Protection Level: Costs vary depending on which Ceramic Pro Package you choose, ranging from entry-level gloss enhancers to elite, multi-layer lifetime protection.
The Bottom Line: We need to see your vehicle's size and surface condition to recommend the best protection package for your needs. Stop by the shop for a quick assessment and a custom quote.
At Element Ceramics and Films, we don’t view it as a competition—they are different tools for different goals. The "better" option depends entirely on how you use your vehicle.
Paint Protection Film (PPF): The Armour
PPF is a thick, transparent (or coloured) urethane barrier designed for impact resistance.
• Best For: Preventing rock chips, road debris damage, and scratches.
• Self-Healing: Most films feature a top coat that heals swirl marks automatically with heat.
• Target Areas: Essential for high-impact zones like the front bumper, bonnet, and wing mirrors.
Ceramic Coating: The Raincoat
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your paint to create a hydrophobic shell.
• Best For: Incredible gloss, UV protection, and making your car effortless to wash.
• Chemical Defense: Protects against bird droppings, tree sap, and harsh weather.
• Limitation: While it is "hard," it is thin and will not stop a rock chip or a flying stone.
The Pro Verdict: Why choose when you can combine?
For the ultimate protection, we recommend the Combo:
1. PPF on the front of the car to stop chips.
2. Ceramic Coating over the rest of the vehicle (and over the film) for a uniform, mirror-like shine and easy cleaning.
